Tallinn

Tallinn in winter is very beautiful, but it's also very cold.

I went three days in Tallinn, Estonia, I do not expect it to be as well. The city is divided into two distinct parts. One is the old town of medieval type and the other in the modern city. The old town is charming, she is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The day I left, I got up at 6am to catch the train to Helsinki, where I took the boat to Tallinn, the sea was completely frozen, it is impressive. When I arrived in Tallinn, it was not already not warm, but it was bearable, plus the weather was beautiful, seeing the sun and blue skies, it changes the greyness of Tampere. I then took the opportunity to walk around the old city, this is not very big, but there are many things to see and be easily lost in the lanes, especially since there were not many people in this Thursday. By cons, is a striking contrast with the modern city and its commercial center.

The second day, it snowed all day, and temperatures dropped. So I decided for a museum, the Kadriorg Palace, which is two kilometers from downtown. I had to take a tram, unfortunately there will not directly and I went the wrong way on foot, in the cold with the wind coming from the front. After a while I backed off, even asking my way I had trouble, people do not speak English. Finally, I found it, but I was disappointed, apart from the exterior and some interior parts, nothing to see.

What I did not know is that there is a museum much more interesting a little farther, I'm gone the next day. It had stopped snowing, but temperatures were still lower than the previous day (around -18 ° C) but the wind was unbearable, especially when waiting for 20 minutes a tram does not come ... Finally, I I took another tram and had to deal with the headwind to the museum KUMU it at least worth it. The works are very diverse: sculptures, Estonian classical art, modern art, contemporary art.

Return to Tampere has not been easy either, with the boat arrived 40 minutes late, the train was not heated and arrived with 20 minutes delay. So I arrive in Tampere at midnight least ten, which makes me miss the last ten minutes bus at the normal rate, with an outside temperature of -20 ° C and a wind chill of -36 ° C (very windy) I thought that I would not resist.

In conclusion, Tallinn is very beautiful in winter, but it must be equally beautiful in summer and above all more enjoyable.

Arrived in Montreal

Hello everyone, I just arrived in Montreal to do my internship for 3 months. The trip was long:

  • 3 o'clock train for Paris (fortunately in first class and with person next to me)
  • Transporting my 2 bags (20 and 13 kilos) and my backpack and more
  • Very little time to sleep, he had to leave very early to the airport to carry baggage check
  • 9 hour flight with a stopover of one hour thirty to Quebec (in A310 where there is almost no room to move a toe, most of the aircraft appeared to have at least 20 service)
  • For 30 minutes to finally find myself in this small (very small hotel room (which I share with my colleagues) to write this post

Here are some pictures, sorry for the quality my camera to big problems functioning.
I did a quick tour of downtown near the hotel where we stayed asleep.

The second day we were taken to tour the city by bus with a tour guide who explained the history of the city. And this day he still has snowed a bit, it was an exceptionally abundant snow for Montrealers.

Unfortunately, I could not take more pictures because I did not think to recharge batteries for my camera ... And it was a pity because the guide took us to Mount Royal, a place where there is a a magnificent view of half of Montreal.
